The 29th Annual Meeting and Seminar of Higher Education Library Coorperative was held at the Thammasat University – Lampang Campus and Wienglakor Hotel – Lampang in Thailand.
This annual meeting and seminar has been organized since 1979 by The Commission on Higher Education of Thailand to build library cooperation and collaboration, and to increase efficiency of library resources. University libraries take turn being the host. The seminar took place from 29 January – 1 February 2013. This year’s theme was “The New Dimension of Library Cooperation Development”.
Emilija Banionyte, Board Member of SPARC Europe and President of Lithuanian Research Library Consortium (LMBA), presented two topics:
- “Library Consortium Management”. In the presentation, Emilija will represent EIFL and discuss EIFL’s work with consortia; benefits and impact of working in a consortium; what constitutes a successful and sustainable consortium; and case studies of successful consortia in the EIFL network.
- “What we learn from the EU: its Libraries Cooperation and Repositories” . This will cover EU policy on Open Access, existing Institutional Repositories and copyright issues.
