SPARC Europe is an alliance of European academic and research libraries, national libraries, library organisations and research institutions.
Our mission and vision
Our primary mission is to take the Open Access Movement further.
We believe we can do this best by means of
- Education & advocacy: we give presentations, participate in conferences and workshops, provide Open Access advocacy material, Open Access guidelines and Open Access recommendations
- Lobbying; we aim at influencing national and international agendas
- Networking: with members and stakeholders, in meetings, joint projects and other communication means
Our work
Through our collaborative efforts, participation in joint initiatives, organisation of events, sponsorship, presentations, written articles, research and advocacy work, we aim to comply to our mission: empowering the library community to bring about positive changes within their own institutions and countries.

Governance and management of SPARC Europe
