The SPARC Europe Seal for Open Access Journals, the SPARC Europe Award, the founding of the Scholarly Open Access Publishers Association (OASPA) and of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), a petition to the European Commission in support of Open Access and signed by over 20.000 individuals and organizations, and the many presentations we have given to promote and advocate Open Access, are just a few examples of SPARC Europe’s work.
Membership fees per year
SPARC Europe will as of 2013 introduce a 4-tiers membership fee model that;
- reflects ability to contribute (pay), which means that membership fees must be differentiated in order to attract potentially institutions from all European countries;
- is considered fair;
- can attract other stakeholders (not only libraries), especially library (professional) associations, learned societies etc.;
- is easy to manage (that is: potential members should easily know their membership fee).
