There has been some interesting recent developments regarding open access in France, especially with a two-days conference organized in Paris by Couperin. The HE minister made a speech on open access, which is quite unique in the history of French university libraries. Present at the conference were also prominent OA actors like Stevan Harnad, Jean-Claude Guédon, Bernard Rentier and Alma Swan.
