SPARC Europe Board Election 2013 – Call for Nominations

At the SPARC Europe Members meeting, on the 25th of June in Munich, Germany, we announced that three places are up for election to the Board of SPARC Europe. The Board consists of seven members minimum and eleven members maximum. The current Board Members are:
  • Lluís Anglada, Consortium of Academic Libraries of Catalonia (CBUC), Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain
  • Bożena Bednarek-Michalska, information specialist, Nicolaus Copernicus University Library in Torun, Poland
  • Nicolaie Constantinescu, Information Architect, Kosson, Romania
  • Raym Crow, Senior Consultant, SPARC, USA (appointed by SPARC US)
  • Jan Erik Frantsvåg, Open Access adviser, University Library of Tromsø, Norway
  • Jean-François Lutz, Head of Digital Library, SCD Nancy-Université, France
  • Sylvia Van Peteghem, Chief Librarian, University of Gent, Belgium
  • Frank Scholze, Director of Library Services at KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), Germany (previously elected Board member and now appointed by LIBER)

Do you wish to see a scholarly communication system built on the principles of openness and sharing, reflecting a return to the collegiate values of academic research and delivering the best return possible to society?

If yes, join the Board of SPARC Europe working to this end by influencing European policy, encourage innovative developments, help build and sustain networks of like-­minded organisations, and support libraries in their efforts to change the system for the better.
You can nominate yourself or a colleague by sending a short CV and cover letter about your motivations to become a Board Member of SPARC Europe and how you can contribute to SPARC Europe’s activities.
Board Members serve a 3-year-term with an option of an additional 3-year-term.
