How to self-assess the financial health of OA publishing? Help develop it
The DIAMAS project is developing a financial self-assessment tool for institutional publishers and service providers (IPSPs). It has been developed by WP5, which SPARC Europe leads. We look forward to launching the Financial Sustainability Self-Assessment Tool in the coming weeks.
We hope that it can help IPSPs discuss their financial sustainability with management, colleagues, their members or others to reflect on and strategise which areas need strengthening to help them become more financially sustainable.
As the first step towards launching this tool, we have developed a range of questions to help IPSPs assess their financial sustainability. Answering this tool’s questions generates a radar chart that displays costs, resources, income streams, whether IPSPs are involved in shared services, which mechanisms allow them to grow financially and how IPSPs control, monitor and manage their finances and plan for the future.
We’d like to give you the opportunity to review these questions before we add them to the tool. You have time until Friday, 22 March to share your feedback and questions in this document. We will do our best to consider your feedback before we populate the tool with the final question set and launch it in the coming weeks.
We invite you to add your comments to this document.
